After adjusting them in the wall box, I noticed that one of the mounting brackets for the HDMI connector had broken. I used heavy duty cables. Otherwise, I am pleased with the look and easy of this product. The plate is nice looking and easy to install. The HDMI mount is a little weak.
The only way this wall plate would be of any use is if you're taking the sound directly from your receiver to a home theater--and if your home theater is next to the receiver, there's no need for the sound cable to go through the wall plate. You may think "It could get the sound through the HDMI," but if the monitor/TV is getting the sound through the HDMI, it will get its picture through there, too. It's a rugged item and easy to install--I just wish Amazon carried the HDMI+Component+RCA Audio version, which is what I ultimately bought from another website. My only problem with this wall plate (and the reason I made the mistake of buying it without ultimately choosing to use it) is that it has no jacks for RCA audio. What apparatus would use component video but have no need for sound.
Still waiting for reply. Asked seller for a replacement piece. I received a defective piece. One of the connector (out of three connectors for component cable, has come out immediately after I put in my component cable in it.
Good construction but not available in other than plain white wall plate. Unique item having both HDMI and component video receptacles on the same wall plate. HDMI is a feed through (female/female) and component connectors are RCA gold plated female/female.
